Innovative CO₂ and H₂ recovery solution for improved carbon footprint

The paper presents the advantages offered by the possibility of separating and recovering CO2 and H2 from the off-gases produced by a Tail Gas Treatment Unit (TGTU), downstream an enriched oxygen sulphur recovery unit.
Nextchem has developed a proprietary configuration that combines cryogenic solutions with PSA technologies to recover high-purity streams of CO2 and H2 that can be re-utilized in the upstream/downstream processes.
The implementation of Nextchem solution minimizes the off-gases sent to incineration and significantly increases the plant hydrogen recovery, therefore reducing CO2 emissions to the atmosphere and contributing towards project's Net Zero emissions goal.
