Plastic Recycling
Turning end-of-life plastics into high-quality circular materials
How Can Plastic Recycling Become Truly Circular?
- Complementary mechanical and chemical recycling pathways
- Valorization of complex and mixed plastic waste
- Production of high-quality recycled polymers and virgin-like monomers
- Modular, scalable and energy-efficient solutions
- Flexible approach based on feedstock and target product
- Supports more circular polymer value chains
Plastic plays an essential role across industries, from packaging and automotive to consumer goods and construction. Yet plastic waste remains one of the most complex challenges of the circular economy.
As industries move towards more circular and traceable materials, recycling technologies need to combine feedstock flexibility with the ability to deliver the quality and performance required for industrial applications.
Nextchem combines complementary recycling pathways to recover value from end of life plastic, transforming it into high-quality recycled polymers or new feedstocks for the production of virgin-like materials.
Different Plastic Waste Requires Different Recycling Pathways
Not all plastic waste can be treated in the same way.
Mechanical recycling provides a simple and energy-efficient solution, but can be affected by feedstock heterogeneity, inconsistent product quality and limited control over properties such as colour and material performance. Chemical recycling can complement mechanical recycling by expanding circularity to more challenging streams, although energy demand, yield and industrial scalability need to be considered.
Nextchem addresses these challenges through two complementary proprietary technologies, NX Replast™ and NX Re™, creating different pathways according to the characteristics of the plastic waste and the target product.
Together, these solutions enable the transformation of mixed plastic waste into high-performance recycled polymers or virgin-like monomers through modular, scalable and energy-efficient systems.
Nextchem Technologies for Plastic Recycling
Nextchem provides an integrated approach to plastic recycling, combining advanced mechanical and chemical recycling technologies.
NX Replast™ addresses plastic waste through an advanced mechanical upcycling pathway designed to recover value of end-of-life plastics and produce high-quality recycled polymers.
NX Re™ complements this approach through chemical recycling, enabling plastic waste to be converted into its constituents building blocks suitable for the production of new virgin-like polymers.
By combining different recycling pathways, Nextchem can address a broader range of plastic waste streams and product requirements, supporting polymer producers, recyclers and waste-management operators in developing more circular material value chains.

Mechanical recycling of post-consumer HDPE and PP into high-quality r-Polymers. Includes sorting, washing, extrusion, and compounding.

Re™
Chemical depolymerization of PMMA, PS, and PO into virgin-grade monomers. Enables high-purity circular feedstock for premium applications.
