A significant share of urban and industrial waste cannot be mechanically or chemically recycled due to contamination, mixed composition, or degradation. These residual streams are often sent to landfills or incineration, leading to lost value and increased emissions.
At the same time, industries are under growing pressure to reduce carbon intensity, integrate circular and bio feedstocks into their operations. Bridging this gap requires a solution capable of converting low-quality waste and residual biomasses into high-value intermediates.
From Waste to Syngas: Enabling Circular Value Chains
NX Circular™ is NEXTCHEM’s advanced gasification platform that converts non-recyclable mixed waste and residual biomasses into clean syngas (H₂ + CO). This syngas acts as a universal building block for fuels, chemicals, and circular materials.
The process is based on high-temperature, oxygen-blown gasification, followed by advanced cleaning and conditioning systems that ensure strict purity levels. This enables direct integration with downstream processes such as ethanol, methanol synthesis, Fischer-Tropsch fuels, ammonia/urea production, and MTO pathways.
By transforming waste into a versatile intermediate, NX Circular™ enables the production of low-carbon fuels (methanol or ammonia for bunkering, SAF) and polymer building blocks, creating a strong link between waste management and advanced manufacturing. When combined with technologies like NX Re™, NX Replast™ and NX EnerCircle™, it forms a complete circular ecosystem, maximizing value recovery from all waste fractions.
